Creating a FinTech from the Ground Up
Fintech startup Buckle aimed to disrupt the shared economy by offering financial products and services designed specifically for its needs. We pioneered a first-of-its-kind rating system that offered fairer insurance premiums to Uber and Lyft drivers based on their driving behavior, not their credit score. This innovative approach aimed to eliminate bias against individuals residing in less-affluent areas. As the first full-time employee and Chief Creative & Marketing Officer, I spearheaded the development of the Buckle brand from the ground up and played a key role in securing Series A and B funding ($91 million). However, the global pandemic significantly impacted Buckle, as the rideshare industry experienced an 85% decline during quarantine, ultimately forcing the company to close its doors.
